
OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Dr. Terri Boman is the part-time Executive Director of the Tuscaloosa Education Foundation (TEF) where she works to provide support and procure financial resources to enhance public education through partnerships with Tuscaloosa City and County Schools.

Dr. Boman began her career as a classroom Chemistry and Physics teacher in Lamar County, Alabama. She was a field specialist for a Chemistry outreach program called Alabama Science in Motion and became the director of that program in 2010 when she accepted an interim appointment that lead to a permanent appointment 2 years later as the director of the UA/UWA In-Service Education Center at the University of Alabama. She retired from the University of Alabama (December 2018) and has a wealth of experience in leadership, professional learning and growth, and cognitive coaching. She is a Ph. D. graduate of the University of Alabama in Educational Leadership and a Certified Cognitive Coach. She co-authored and wrote the foreword for a book with a group of colleagues entitled Real World Professional Learning Communities: Their Use and Effects.
Dr. Boman has one son, Hunter Boman (Emily Katherine), and two grandchildren, Emalyn and Hollis. She believes that learning and growth are paramount to a positive attitude, a collaborative spirit, and a life of meaning.
