Tuscaloosa County Schools superintendent to retire end of May

The superintendent of Tuscaloosa County School System is retiring. Dr. Walter Davie will finish the school year and return at the end of May.

“You just know when it’s time, and for me, the timing is right,” Dr. Davie said.

School counselors train to help suicidal and emotional students

About one hundred school counselors and others working in the Tuscaloosa City and County School systems participated in an all-day joint training session Thursday, to help kids who have trouble controlling their emotions and in some cases may even be suicidal.
